Maliha Lalva

Maliha grew up in a family where everyone was doing something  amazing for the deen: her brother’s a Hafidh, her sister studied at a Darul  Uloom, and her brother-in-law’s training to be a Mufti. For a while, she felt  like she wasn’t doing enough. But over time, she realized her path didn’t have to look like anyone else’s. Her journey is her own, and she’s owning it.

After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster, she felt the need to fill a different kind of gap, the one in her  soul. So she enrolled in structured Islamic studies at Taqwa and Tamhid Academies, diving into Arabic, fiqh, and the Qur’an. Why? Because she wants to be someone who can answer questions and help others feel connected to their faith again.

She’s not doing this for a title. She wants to bring Islamic  knowledge back to the community, make it practical, real, and something  people can lean on. Whether it’s leading halaqas at MSA, helping at Wijhah, helping sisters navigate life, or just being there when someone’s feeling lost, she’s in it for the long haul. She’s here to serve, teach, and uplift.
